Special events

One Book, One Community event – Visit with author Chistina Baker Kline: 7 p.m. Aug. 13. The metro-area libraries are joining together to kick off the special event with this author visit at The Stage at Island Park. A book signing will follow. Details available at

Saturday New Release – “Heaven is for Real”: 2 p.m. Saturday. Viewing of the new movie about a young boy’s journey to heaven. (100 minutes, PG)

Regular events

“West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward”: An exhibit features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. Visit the exhibit (upper level of the library) during library hours.

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Teacups Book Club: 7 p.m. Monday. Adults are invited to join a discussion about the book “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline. Refreshments will be served.

Knitty Giddy: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Bring supplies.

Friday Morning Movie: 10:30 a.m. Friday. “Cars Toons: Mater’s Tall Tales.” (G, 38 minutes)

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and 12:30 p.m. Thursday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Story time – Fun on the Farm: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Story times are geared for children in preschool through first grade and their caretakers. Day cares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead to (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Upcoming events

Lego Mania: 1:30 p.m. Aug 18. Groups will compete against each other with their Lego creations. Refreshments will be served.

School is Cool: 1:30 p.m. Aug 21. Hear story and discuss school adventures. Fun make-and-take project and special schoolhouse treat.


The library is on summer schedule and will be closed on Sundays.
