Technology Thursday: Computer Safety and Security, Thursday, Feb. 23, 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. Viruses, worms, and malware can make the Internet a dangerous place to surf if your computer isn't protected. Learn how to download, install, and use free software programs that will help keep the dangerous elements at bay. Sign-up at the service desk or call 433-5460.

Genealogy: Saturday, Feb. 25, 12 to 4 p.m. Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help explore family histories. Take your projects or just ask questions.

Knitty Giddy: Tuesday, Feb. 28, 6:30 p.m. If you are an experienced knitter, take along your projects and knit; if you are a new knitter, take your size 8 to size 10 needles and a skein of yarn and you will receive help getting started. Fun, relaxed group.

Ham Radio Group: Wednesday, Feb. 22, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Open to adults interested in learning about ham radio.

Sunday Video Games: Feb. 26, 2 p.m. Try your skills at Kinect Sports or Mario Cart Racing. 

Storytime: Will include stories, songs, projects, and other activities. Thursday, Feb. 23, 6:30 p.m., "Cookie Mouse;" Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1:30 p.m., "What's This?" Thursday, March 1, 6:30 p.m., "A Trip to the Dentist."

Simply Stories: Tuesday, Feb. 28, 10 a.m. Take your little ones to the library and enjoy two stories. Unlike regular storytimes, this program is just stories - no crafts.  If you're looking for stories and crafts, visit the Library Tuesdays at 1:30 or Thursdays at 6:30.

Friday Morning Movie: Feb. 24, 10:30 a.m. "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure." A faerie is on a quest to restore the world's supply of fairy dust.  (Rated G, 1 hr 20 min)

Upcoming Events:

Carry-Out a Good Book: Thursday, March 1. Do you miss the fun of the library's Summer Reading Program in the winter? Library staff does too. Register for "Carry-Out a Good Book" and receive: an edible book mark (to earn a free personal pan pizza from Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza); ba book bag; and track your reading on a giant pizza in the Homework Center. Includes two craft days on March 5 and March 23 (6:30-7:30) in the Homework Center and the Closing Celebration: "Hot Pizza Party" on Friday, March 23, 3:30-4:30. Open to teens and children.

Tea: Tuesday, March 6, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tea educator Vicky Jo Bogart returns to discuss the properties, varieties, and preparation of a good cup of tea.  Health benefits of different varieties will also be discussed.  Attend and learn about tea and sample some of the delicious (and good for you) brews. $5 non-refundable registration fee due at registration. Register at the service desk.


Homework Center Closed: Monday, Feb. 27 through Wednesday, Feb. 29, due to school break.
