Special events

Board games and Legos: 4 p.m. Monday. For anyone not ready for summer to end, join the library for board games and treats. No registration required. All ages.


Saturday New Release – “Heaven is for Real”: 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Viewing of the new movie about a young boy’s journey to heaven. (100 minutes, PG)

Regular events

“West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward”: An exhibit features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. Visit the exhibit (upper level of the library) during library hours.

Genealogy: Noon and 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Knitty Giddy: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Bring supplies.

Friday Morning Movie: 10:30 a.m. Friday. “Rio 2” (G, 111 minutes)

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and 12:30 p.m. July 31. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Summer reading program registration is not required.

Story time – Pete The Cat: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Story times are geared for preschool through first- grade-age children and their caretakers. Day cares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead to (701) 433-5460. Summer Reading Program registration is not required.

Upcoming events

Teacups Book Club: 7 p.m. Aug. 11. Adults are invited to join a discussion about the book “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline. Light refereshments will be served.

One Book, One Community Event: Visit with author Chistina Baker Kline: 7 p.m. Aug. 13. The metro-area libraries are joining together to kick off the special event with an author visit at The Stage in Island Park. A book signing will follow. Details available at www.1book1community.
