Little Fizzers (Preschool) Simply Stories
10: 15 a.m. June 24. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Summer reading program registration is not required.
Fizz, Boom, Read! (grades K-5)1:30 p.m. Monday. Create a glow-in-the-dark comet during Space Week while meeting new friends. Summer reading program registration is required.Spark a Reaction (Grades 6-8) 3:30 p.m. Monday. Express creativity and create a wall hanging. Summer reading program registration is required.Grades K-8 Garden Club10:15 a.m. June 25. Learn and discuss various gardening topics, paint flowerpots and plant flowers. Registration is required.All Ages EventsSky Lab: 3 p.m. Thursday. Enter into a sky lab with constellations and information on the planets and stars. While you wait, visit the crafting booth and choose a sand art outerspace project or a mobile. Registration is required.Root Beer Floats: 3:30 p.m. June 24. Cool off from the hot summer with a root beer float. The event is free and open to all ages, while supplies last. Registration is not required.West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward: An exhibit features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. Visit the exhibit (upper level of the library) during library hours.
Genealogy: Noon and 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.Friday Morning Movie “Space Buddies”: 10:30 a.m. Friday. Space Week is capped off with a puppy adventure in, you guessed it, Outer Space. Open to all. Popcorn will be provided. (G, 84 minutes)New Release Movie: “Ender’s Game” 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Students at a specialized school try to discover the one person who would be able to defend the planet against a future alien attack. Popcorn will be available. (PG-13, 114 minutes)
Summer Reading Program Event: Professor Freeze: 7 p.m. June 26.Explore with Professor Freeze (Don Carey) the wide range of uses for liquid nitrogen and see how it is used for cooling and learn about cryogenics applications. Summer reading program registration is required.Video Gaming: 3:30 p.m. June 27. Two hours of fun with many video games, LEGOs and Kinect’s available to play.Summer Reading Program Event – R. U. Curious?: 1 p.m. June 28.An event for (K-5) Fizz Boom, Read! students.Salute to Service with a Soldier: 1:30 p.m. July 1. A North Dakota Air Guard soldier will read a story. The project of the day is decorating a peace symbol. Participants will help make a card that will be taken to the Fargo Veterans Affairs Hospital.
The library is now on summer schedule and will be closed on Sundays.
