Watch: Pipeline construction continues as officers clear protesters' camp

Library news (March 19)

Special Events: National Goof Off Day: 3 p.m. March 22. If you need an excuse to play, this is it. Start off with a movie at 3 p.m., followed by board games, LEGOs and snacks. All ages are welcome.

West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward: This exhibit features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. Visit the exhibit (upper level of the library) during library hours.

Regular Events: Ham Radio Operators: 6:45 p.m. today. Sessions are open to all adults and children (with attending adult) wanting to learn more about ham radio operating. Contact the library for further information at 433-5460.

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. March 22. We’ll help explore your family’s history. Bring your projects or just ask questions.

Tech Class: 6:30 p.m., March 24. Navigate the West Fargo Public Library’s website. Small- sized class on how to explore the interesting featured online sources, card catalog virtual library, events and programs, and AARP tax locations. Registration is required.

Knitty Giddy: 6:30 p.m. March 25. Adults are invited to join this fun group of knitters and crocheters. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Come with your own supplies. We will give lots of help to get beginners started.

Creative Corner: 12:30 to 1 p.m. March 26. Eplore your creative side and enrich your afternoon, making a simple craft at the library. This program is open to all adults and no registration is required.

Friday Morning Movie: 10:30 a.m. March 21 – “Thumps and Jumps” (Cat in the Hat) This is an educational movie that covers the different skills of different creatures. It is always an adventure with the Cat in the Hat, he knows a lot about that. (35 minutes, E)

Saturday Flicks: 2 p.m. March 22. Disney’s Super Buddies. Join the five furry friends on an adventure to save the day. (81 minutes, G)

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. March 25. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers. Unlike our regular story times, this program is just stories – no crafts. If you’re looking for stories and simple make-and-take crafts, come to the library at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays or at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Story time: Welcome to the wonderful world of stories and make-and-take crafts. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but if your group is larger than five, please call ahead to 433-5460 so there is enough crafting supplies.

Upcoming Events:

Early Garden Workshop: 7 p.m., March 27. Hands-on workshop to get your seedlings started for spring planting. Seeds, soil and container provided. Registration is required.

Fun with Food: 10:15 a.m. March 31. Fun nutrition program geared toward preschoolers. Story, craft and simple snack provided. Registration appreciated but not required.

Announcements: Closings due to winter weather or other emergencies will be posted on our website and also on WDAY. The Homework Center is closed on days when the schools are closed, including vacations and snow days.
