Special Event:

2nd Annual Cards for Veterans: Friday, Nov. 4, 3:30 to 5 p.m. It's time to "Thank a vet." All supplies provided, you supply the creativity. The library will send the cards to the Veterans Hospital in Fargo. Create as many cards as you wish. Open to everyone.

Technology Thursday: Craigslist Buying and Selling, Thursday, Nov. 3, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This class will introduce you to Craigslist, a free online resource for buying and selling items. Learn to create a listing of your own for selling merchandise, or stick to buying what is available. Please pre-register at the service desk or by calling 433-5460.

Genealogy: Saturday, Nov. 5, 12 to 4 p.m. Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help explore family histories. Take your projects or just ask questions.

"Young at Heart" Senior Program: Picture Frames, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1 p.m. Paint and decoupage a picture frame. You can bring your own picture. All supplies provided. Makes a great gift. Pre-register at the service desk or by calling 433-5460.

Ham Radio Group: Wednesday, Nov. 2, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Open to adults interested in learning about ham radio.

Knitty Giddy: Tuesday, Nov. 8, 6:30 p.m. If you are an experienced knitter, take along your projects and knit; if you are a new knitter, take your size 8 to size 10 needles and a skein of yarn and you will receive help getting started. Fun, relaxed group.

Simply Stories: Tuesday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m. Take your little ones to the library and enjoy two stories. Unlike regular storytimes, this program is just stories - no crafts. If you're looking for stories and crafts, attend Storytime Tuesdays at 1:30 or Thursdays at 6:30.

Special Storytime: Thursday, Nov. 3, 6:30 p.m. The Cat in the Hat visits. Take your camera, and don't miss your chance to meet this favorite storybook character; Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1:30 p.m., "Kittens Meow;" Thursday, Nov. 10, 6:30 p.m., "Yankee Doodle."

Friday Morning Movie: Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m., "Muppet Treasure Island." Join the swashbuckling Muppets in this film filled with songs, romance, and adventure. (Rated G, 100 min).

New Movie Saturday: Nov. 5, 2 p.m., "The Tourist." Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Paul Bettany star in this suspenseful drama.  (Rated PG-13, 103 min)

4th Annual Caramel Apple Day: Friday, Nov. 18, 4 to 5 p.m. What could be better than a delicious apple dipped in warm caramel and rolled in your choice of toppings? Free, while supplies last.

Sunday Video Games: Nov. 13, 2 to 4 p.m. Wii, Guitar Hero and more. Free and open to everyone, join for an afternoon of fun!

Announcement:

Holiday Closing: The library will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

Historical Center Grant: The North Dakota Historical Society has approved a $1,032 grant request for archival supplies for the West Fargo Historical Center. The West Fargo Historical Center is located upstairs in the West Fargo Public Library and has information on many facets of West Fargo and the surrounding community, along with its citizens. The West Fargo Historical Center is open to the public. Call 433-5460 for days and times.

L.E. Berger Elementary Art Exhibit: Student art work from L.E. Berger Elementary is on display in the Children's Corner. View some excellent art work from West Fargo's budding artists.

The library is located at 109 3rd St. E., in the Lodoen Community Center. Sandra Hannahs is library director.
