Start the holiday season at the library.
Santa Visits: Saturday, Dec. 3, 2 to 4 p.m. This is your chance to meet Santa in person. Enjoy a story, create a craft, and visit with Santa. Parents - don't forget your camera to capture the fun.
3rd Annual Holiday Cookie Exchange: Monday, Dec. 5, 6:30 to 8 p.m. This is a fun way to exchange cookies and candies. Bring three dozen holiday treats (in a disposable pan) and exchange them for three dozen other holiday treats. Open to all ages.
Technology Thursday: Facebook, Dec. 1, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Facebook is an extremely popular social media website that can link you to friends and family. Learn how to set up an account and start networking online. A digital photo can also be taken to be used in your Facebook profile. Register at the service desk or call 433-5460.
Knitty Giddy: Tuesday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m. If you are an experienced knitter, take along your projects and knit; if you are a new knitter, take your size 8 to size 10 needles and a skein of yarn and you will receive help getting started. Fun, relaxed group.
Ham Radio Group: Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m., open to adults interested in learning about ham radio.
Sunday Video Games: Dec. 4, 2 p.m. Try your skills at Kinect Sports or Mario Cart Racing.
Simply Stories: Tuesday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. Take your little ones to the library and enjoy two stories. The program is just stories - no crafts. If you're looking for stories and crafts, visit the library Tuesdays at 1:30 or Thursdays at 6:30.
Storytime: Thursday, Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m., "Snow;" Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1:30 p.m., "Brrrr;" Thursday, Dec. 8, 6:30 p.m., "The Missing Mitten."
Friday Morning Movie: Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m., "12 Dogs of Christmas." Twelve-year-old Emma has just moved to Doverville, a town where dog ownership is illegal. In order to convince the mayor to change the law, she puts on a Christmas pageant. (Rated G, 107 min.) Universal.
"Young at Heart" Senior Program: Senior Surf Days - Basic Computer: Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1 p.m. Sign up at the service desk or call 433-5460.
Technology Thursday: Create a Family Newsletter Using Microsoft Publisher (I): Thursday, Dec. 8, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Back by popular demand and just in time for the holiday season. It's workshop night in this Technology Thursday installment, with your personal family newsletter as the goal. Take your text and photos to the library, and use Microsoft Publisher to create an impressive document that you can save, print or email. Sign up for both weeks if you think you might need extra time to finish your masterpiece. Session 2 will be held on Dec. 15. Register at the service desk or call 433-5460.
Origami Boxes: Thursday, Dec. 8, 7 p.m. Create individual origami boxes for those favorite items and holiday gifts. All supplies provided. Open to adults and teens.
