Local Scout earns Eagle rank
Fargo North Dakota 101 5th Street North 58102

Nathan Reitan, West Fargo, celebrated his award of the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Rank on Jan. 21 with an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at Hope Lutheran Church South Campus. Speakers were Mark Holtz, Northern Lights Council Scout Executive and Major Chris Sjue, West Fargo ROTC.

Reitan received the Eagle Rank on Oct. 21, 2011 following his Eagle Board of Review. His Eagle Scout Service Project was the construction and maintenance of a trapper's garden at the Red River Zoo. The garden was constructed to resemble one that would be found in the late 1800s.

Reitan is a member of Boy Scout Troop 279, sponsored by Holy Cross Catholic Church and Lutheran Church of the Cross. He is the son of Mike and Michelle Reitan and grandson of Bud and June Reitan, Casselton and Steve and Carol Lovejoy, Argusville.
