Lois J. Forderer, 62, Fargo, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care, Fargo.

Lois Jean Conrad was born on January 22, 1947 in Fargo to Robert and Marjorie (Bissett) Conrad. She grew up on the family farm near Erie, N.D. and graduated from Page (N.D.) High School in 1965. She attended school in Minneapolis, Minn. where she met Harvey Forderer. They were married on June 28, 1969 in Page. They lived a short time in Minneapolis, Wahpeton and Jamestown, N.D. In 1971, they moved to Page where they resided until 1988 when they moved to Leonard, N.D. In 1990, they moved to Fargo. Lois drove school bus for the West Fargo Public School for 14 years.

She was an active member of Flame of Faith UMC and sang in the choir. She enjoyed sewing, writing poetry and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Harvey; sons, Richard (Stacy) of Fargo, Travis (Jessica) of Casselton and Andrew of Fargo; daughter, Cynthia Forderer of Fargo; grandchildren, Amanda and Sarah Tarvestad, Anela and Marjorie Forderer; brothers, Robert (Sandy) Conrad of Fargo, Bruce Conrad of West Fargo, John Conrad of Longmont, Colo., and Dale Conrad of Valley City, N.D.; sister, Linda (Paul) Splettstaszer of West Fargo; aunts, Joyce Abatte of Las Vegas, Nev., JoAnn Bissett of Casselton and Marion Conrad of Fargo; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Flame of Faith United Methodist Church, West Fargo. Burial will be at the Erie (N.D.) Cemetery.
