"Representing the people of this newly formed district is extremely important and will continue in the coming years," Lund said. District 16 was created due to the growth in population in the Fargo/West Fargo area. It stretches from Main Ave down to 40th Ave South. "I want to work for the citizens of District 16 and be a reasonable voice in our legislature for the good of all our citizens."

He added that he is looking forward to hearing the concerns of all people in southern West Fargo and Fargo who make up District 16.

As a longtime healthcare professional and small business owner, Lund is concerned with making sure North Dakota's infrastructure remains strong while ensuring the growth North Dakota is currently seeing remains sustainable. "I want to make sure that North Dakota keeps being a great place to live during good economic times and after."

Lund was born in Fargo and has lived in West Fargo for most of his adult life with his wife, Linda. They have three children and a grandson. Lund graduated from Mayville State University with a bachelor degree in business and from NDSU/MeritCare Respiratory Therapy Program. His business was recognized as the Entrepreneurial Business of the Year in 2004 by the FM Chamber of Commerce, he received the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award in 2005 from the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce and was named North Dakota Small Business Person Of The Year in 2005 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
