Lyle G. Young, 82, North Branch, Minn., died on Monday, March 31, 2008, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minn. Services were held Saturday, April 5, in the West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Lyle was born on June 27, 1925, in Enderlin to Harvey and Amanda (Swandt) Young. He attended school through the eighth grade. He entered the U.S. Navy on Dec. 10, 1943, during WWII and served his country until he was honorably discharged on Jan. 6, 1946. He then married Lois Cottrell on June 6, 1953. He was a Teamster Truck Driver for 40 plus years and retired in 1988. Lois died on Oct. 27, 1993.
He enjoyed restoring old cars, fishing, playing bingo and conversations with friends and family.
He is survived by his three children, Glenn (Julie) Young of Denver, Colo.; Lori (Chad) Brenny of Loveland, Colo.; Shelly Young of North Branch, Minn.; six grandchildren, Sara, Bjorn, Austin, Colton, Max and Madison; brother, Cliff (Marlys) Young of Fargo.; sisters, Mavis Snyder of Fargo, Vivian Nieves of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Violet Mustain of Apopka, Fla., Imagean Fosse, and Donna Bruse of Horace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant brother and sister, Kenneth and Kathryn; wife, Lois and brother, Orville.
