Man pleads guilty for 2005 West Fargo rape
FARGO - A man pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to rape and burglary in a case stemming from a 2005 West Fargo incident. DNA collected from two crimes linked him to the case.
Michael Jerome Waller Jr., 23, entered the pleas without an agreement with prosecutors and will be sentenced at a later date.
Authorities arrested Waller last September in New York after tips came into police that he should be considered a suspect in a November 2005 attack on an elderly West Fargo woman. DNA later linked him to the case.
He lived five blocks from the 73-year-old woman at the time, according to court documents.
Waller was released from a New York jail a year ago after serving a nine-month sentence for trying to sexually assault a 22-year-old woman in the hallway of a Yonkers apartment building.
