Pfc. Mitchell J. Jore of the N.D. Army National Guard completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Okla., on Sept. 17, 2009, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Bliss, Texas, on Nov. 20, 2009. He attended the course of 14S- Avenger Crewmember and is now a member of the Headquarters, Headquarters Battalion 1-188th Air Defense Artillery (Avenger /Man-Portable Air Defense System) in Grand Forks.

In civilian life, Jore is self-employed as a contractor and has plans to attend college at North Dakota State University. He is a 2006 graduate of West Fargo High School and graduated from Bottineau State University of Minot with an associate's degree in 2008. His parents are William and Terri Jore of West Fargo.

Air Force Airman Elizabeth C. Sartwell graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of Rick Sartwell, Fargo, and granddaughter of Marilyn Jamieson, West Fargo.

Sartwell is a 2009 graduate of Fargo South High School.
