Mrs. N.D. American Pageant to benefit Speech & Learning Center
The crowning of the 2010 Mrs. North Dakota America will take place Sunday, June 6, at the Grand Masonic Lodge in North Fargo, located at 1405 North 3rd Street, adjacent to El Zagal Golf Course.
The ceremony begins at 3 p.m. and will feature five state finalists from across North Dakota, including: Mrs. Devils Lake, Jill Johnson; Mrs. Fargo, Hope Adam; Mrs. Grand Forks, Shalon Ironroad; Mrs. Jamestown, Mary Schwartzkopf; and Mrs. West Fargo, Tera Miller.
Dan Wagner, also known as "Danny Elvis" will be the guest performer singing a few of Elvis Presley's historic songs.
This year's pageant organizer, Natalie Sparrow, has chosen Fargo Scottish Rites Speech & Learning Center (H.E.L.P Center) as the official fundraiser for the 2010 pageant. The Speech & Learning Center provides free speech services to families who cannot afford to pay for speech therapy, or do not have insurance to cover the program. Each delegate who entered the state pageant set goals to raise funds for the local organization.
Pageant tickets are $15 at the door, and partial proceeds will benefit the center.
Mrs. North Dakota is the preliminary pageant to the prestigious Mrs. America Pageant, held in September. The current Mrs. North Dakota America is Toni Massey-Wheeler of Bismarck.
