Mystikix to host fundraiser

The West Fargo Mystikix Dance Team and their parents are hosting a spaghetti feed and silent auction fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Ave. The team has qualified for the UDA National Dance Team Championship in Florida and proceeds from the event will defray expenses involved with the trip.

Many local businesses are contributing to the silent auction, among them Dr. Harvey and Dr. Ames Orthodontics office, offering a large discount on a braces package to help raise money. Their donation will be a 6,000-$8,500 braces package, with a minimum bid of $4,500 being asked.

Area stores and restaurants are also donating all the food for the event. Ticket price for the meal is $5.

The Mystikix dance team is made up of 7th and 8th graders from Cheney and Liberty Middle Schools. The dancers qualified for the national competition at a regional UDA camp on the weekend of July 26 in Brainerd, Minn. This is the first time the team has qualified for the UDA National Championship. “With great sacrifices comes great rewards, and that is why they earned the opportunity to compete against some of the best in the country, “said Mystikix coach Sasha Steichen.

Everyone is welcome to attend the fundraising event.
