The North Dakota Safety Council is hosting a defensive driving course. "Alive at 25," a young-driver intervention program, zeroes in on drivers between the ages of 14 and 25 - the group most likely to be involved in fatal collisions.

The class will be held Sunday, Jan. 29 from 4-8 p.m. at the Cass County Annex Building, 101 Second Avenue South in Fargo.

This highly interactive four-hour program teaches young drivers how to take control of situations by taking responsibility for their own driving behavior.

Vehicle crashes are the No. 1 cause of death for people between the ages of 14 and 24.

By completing a NDSC Alive at 25-Defensive Driving Course, participants may be eligible for an insurance discount and three-point reduction on their driving record.

Prepayment and registration is required, and can be completed by logging on to www.ndsc.org, or by calling 701-223-6372 or 800-932-8890.
