The North Dakota High School Activities Association recently released information on the state track and field meet, as well as the state girls tennis tournament.
The NDHSAA-sponsored state track and field meet will be held May 28-29 at the Bismarck Community Bowl.
West Fargo will be among 115 teams representing individual schools and cooperative sponsorships participating in the 2010 season. In 2009, Bismarck was named Class A Boys and Girls Team Champions. Rugby captured the Class B girls team title, while New Town was named Class B boys team Champions.
The two-day event begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 28, with the Parade of Athletes. Competition starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday's meet will begin at 9 a.m. with field events, while track events start at 11:00 a.m.
Ticket prices for adults are $11 daily or $20 for a two-day wristband. Students will be charged $6 daily, or $10 for a two-day wristband. Presales for state meet wristbands only will be 5-7:30 p.m. May 27, at the north ticket booth.
The NDHSAA state girls tennis tournament will be held May 27-29, in Grand Forks.
NDHSAA has sponsored girls tennis since 1966. Today, West Fargo is among 17 individual schools and cooperative sponsorship teams who participate in the sport.
In 2009, Grand Forks Red River captured the Team Champion title, as well as a singles title from Callie Ronkowski, and doubles title from Lalangi Marasinghe and Mimi Yunker.
The state tournament begins at 2 p.m. May 27, and the headquarters will be located at Center Court Fitness Club.
