Nominations sought for the 16th annual NDVMA Animal Hall of Fame Awards
Each year, the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association honors the human-animal bond by recognizing special animals that have made a difference in someone’s life. Owners and caretakers whose pet has shown exceptional affection, bravery and/or empathy are encouraged to submit nominations for this year’s 16th annual NDVMA Animal Hall of Fame Awards.
Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:
• Hero – an animal that has saved or preserved a human life.
• Companion – an animal that has provided extraordinary benefits to their human companion or community.
• Professional - an animal professionally trained to assist humans, such as police dogs, military dogs, search and rescue or guide dogs for the blind.
• Therapy – an animal beneficial to hospice, nursing homes, prisons or other facilities.
Nominees must reside in North Dakota, and an official nomination form must be completed. Nomination forms are due by June 1 and can be downloaded from the NDVMA’s website at www.ndvma.com or by contacting the NDVMA office at (701) 221-7740. A picture of the nominee, as well as a letter explaining why they should receive the award, must accompany the nomination form. Inductees will be recognized at the NDVMA’s family dinner on Aug. 18 at the Ramada Plaza Suites in Fargo.
