North Dakota Dollars for Scholars recently announced that students now have opportunities for $37,000 in scholarships.
The partnership between NDDFS and Bank of North Dakota, along with Scheels Foundation and many donations from businesses and individuals throughout North Dakota, allows the North Dakota State chapter to offer more scholarships to North Dakota students.
The following scholarships are only available to North Dakota students who live in a community served by a local Dollars for Scholars chapter.
Dr. Fradkin Regional Community Service Scholarships - Eight $500 scholarships are available to high school seniors who excel in community service.
Vocational/Technical/Trade School Scholarships - Twenty $500 scholarships are available to high school senior students who will be attending a vocational or technical/trade school. The Joann Link Hetzel memorial endowment specifically contributes to these scholarships.
Returning/Graduate Students Scholarship - Forty $500 scholarships are available to students who are returning second-, third- or fourth-year students or graduate students pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree or technical/vocational degree. The James A. Guy endowment specifically contributes to these scholarships.
Health Care Related Scholarships (new for 2010) - Six $500 scholarships are available to students who are returning second-, third- or fourth-year students or graduate students pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in a health care-related field.
All high school seniors and returning/graduate college students who have a DFS chapter in their hometown are encouraged to find out more, and get applications online at www.nddfs.org.
Students are advised to start now, as some applications are due as early as May 1.
