Rev. Christoph Schmidt and Rev. Taryn Montgomery are the parents of a daughter, Magdalene Esther Montgomery Schmidt, born Oct. 15, 2011, at Trinity Hospital, Minot, N.D. She weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces. Grandparents are Rev. Peter and Vicki Schmidt, West Fargo, and Charlie and Tiana Montgomery, Monticello, Ill.

Eric and Janelle Hanson, West Fargo, are the parents of a son, Brody William, born Oct. 18, 2011 at 2:06 p.m. at Essentia Health. He weighed 8 pounds 8.9 ounces and was 22 inches long. Brody joins a sister, Avery. Grandparents are Pete and Cindy Blue, and Tom and Andrea Hanson, all of Grand Forks, N.D.

Jamie Rott and Matt Peterson, West Fargo, are the parents of a daughter, Shay Elizabeth Peterson, born Oct. 18, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center. She weighed 8.15 pounds and measured 19.5 inches.
