O'Neil re-enlists in North Dakota National Guard

Staff Sgt. Joel O'Neil, of West Fargo, has extended his contract for one more year with Company A of the 231st Brigade Support Battalion in Fargo, N.D.

O'Neil has been a member of the North Dakota Army National Guard for 12 years. He holds two military occupational specialties: motor transport operator and horizontal construction engineer.

O'Neil deployed with the 142nd Engineer Combat Battalion from 2003-2004 to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom and with the 231st Brigade Support Battalion from 2009-2010 to Kosovo for Operation Enduring Freedom.

He attended school at North Dakota State University and majored in construction management. He works for Wanzek Construction as a general superintendent.
