Cal Helgeson, the hockey association’s past president, worked with Packer head coach Pat Johnson to have some Packers surprise the girls at the start of their practice.

After practicing with the youth teams, the Packer skaters stuck around to answer the girls’ questions about life as a high schooler, hockey and what it was like to win the state championship.

“The girls were super excited,” Helgeson said. “They compare that state title to an Olympic gold medal. It was one of our best practices all year.”
