The West Fargo High School Boys golf team advanced to the state tournament as a favorite after winning the Eastern Dakota Conference tournament in Wahpeton on Wednesday.
West Fargo edged out Fargo North’s score of 315 with a 307 score. Senior Riley Johnson took first with an individual score of 72 and Drew Conzemius placed fifth with a score of 77.
Shanley High School rounded out the tournament in third place followed by Davies, Red River and Central High Schools.
Johnson was nominated from the East Region as North Dakota Golfer of the Year. The title will be named at the state tournament.
The boys state golf meet is being played today in Jamestown.
