Packers volleyball bound for postseason

The marathon regular season that is North Dakota prep volleyball is finally winding down.

Last week, the Packers fell to No. 1 Grand Forks Red River 25-16, 25-13, 25-13 on Tuesday. They then dropped their last regular-season game Thursday against No. 3 Fargo South, 25-21, 25-13, 25-15.

But as sports fans know, slates are wiped clean in the postseason and then it's anybody's game. If the Packers can forget about those recent losses, they should stand a good chance against their East Region meet foes.

No. 4 Fargo North (23-10) is set to take on No. 5 West Fargo (19-12) at 2 p.m. Thursday in Grand Forks. Semifinal games will be at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, while state-qualifying games take place at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday. The title game is 4 p.m. Saturday.

State qualifiers will then take part in the state tournament Nov. 18-20, in Minot.
