Packers win four straight

The West Fargo girls' hockey team has started the season right, winning its first four games, including two last week.

On Tuesday, the team hosted the Grand Forks Knightriders, beating them 4-3.

Friday's game was not as close, as the Packers topped the Bismarck Demons 3-0.

The team was led by senior forward Hayley Walsh against Grand Forks. She netted two goals - one in the first period and one in the second - in the victory.

The rest of the team's goals came from junior Kelly Krahn and eighth-grader Janey Sandoval, both the the third period.

Assists came from juniors Tori Holland and Allison Springer.

Goalie Andrea Klug had 24 saves in the contest.

Walsh tallied two more goals in Friday's shutout victory, bringing her yearly total to nine so far.

Krahn scored the only other goal for the Packers. Assists came from Holland, Springer and junior Kourtney Lothspeich.

The Packers (4-0-0) are the only undefeated team left in the conference.

They, along with the Boys' team, will head to Fargo South on Saturday to face the Bruins at noon. They will then travel to Devils Lake on Tuesday to face the Firebirds at 7:30 p.m.
