Packers win two more

The Packers girls' hockey team continued its winning ways last week, topping Fargo North 7-1 on Tuesday at the John E. Carlson Coliseum before beating Fargo South-Davies 4-3 at Scheels Arena on Saturday for their sixth straight victory to start the 2012 season.

In Tuesday's game against the Spartans, forwards Kelly Krahn and Chelsea Wangen each had two goals. Krahn also had an assist on a goal scored by Hayley Walsh in the second period.

Goalie Andrea Klug had 14 saves in Tuesday's competition.

In Saturday's contest against the Bruins, the Packers were down 1-0 at the end of the first period, but scored four goals in ten minutes in the second - while only allowing two more - to remain undefeated on the season so far.

Wangen scored two more goals on Saturday, bringing her season total to six.

Junior forward Allison Springer scored the other goal for the Packers. She also had an assist in the game.

Klug had 17 goals and an assist against the Bruins.

The Packers are now 6-0-0 on the season with 18 points, good enough for first place.

So far, Hayley Walsh is leading the team with a whopping 12 goals. She also has four assists to give her 16 points on the season.

Junior defenseman Tori Holland has the most assists on the team with 10. She also has two goals, totalling 12 points so far.

Klug has the win in the net in every game so far this year, and she has a save percentage of 94.7.

The team will head to Mandan on Friday night to take on the Braves at 7 p.m. After that, they have a break until after the new year.
