Big Screen Movie Matinees
The West Fargo Park District is hosting two indoor Big Screen Movie Matinees this summer at the Veterans Memorial Arena, 1201 7th Ave. E.
The movies are free and will be shown on Thursday, June 16, and Thursday, July 14. Popcorn, sno-cones or pop will available for $1; other concessions will be available for a minimal charge. Take your blanket or lawn chair.
Wild West Jamboree
A Wild West Jamboree will take place on Wednesday, June 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Rendezvous Park, 1055 32nd Ave. W. Enjoy a Rootin' Tootin' good time of activities including music with "The Roosters," free carriage rides, gunny sack races, barrel car rides, a petting zoo, roping demos, face painting and other western games. Pony rides will be offered for $2. New York Life will be printing Child I.D. cards for each parent or guardian free of charge. Child I.D. cards feature a child's photo, fingerprints, contact information and other pertinent information needed by the police in the event of an emergency. Hotdogs, chips and beverage will be available for $1. Take your lawn chair or blanket. The event is sponsored in part by Western State Bank.
West Fargo Senior Picnic
All West Fargo Senior Citizens are invited to a fun-filled summer afternoon at the North Elmwood Park Shelter, 500 13th Ave. W., on Thursday, July 28, at noon. The picnic will feature a free chicken dinner, musical entertainment with Glen Douglas and bingo. Pre-registration is required.
All interested West Fargo seniors must register for the luncheon by July 15 by calling the park office at 433-5360.
Farmers' Market & Beyond
The 5th Annual "Farmers Market and Beyond" will be open on Thursdays, July 7 running through Oct. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays, July 30 through Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market is held at South Elmwood Park parking lot, 500 13th Ave. W. Fresh produce, berries, herbs, meats, jellies, flowers, hand-crafted items and agriculture products will be available for purchase.
The Farmers Market is open to area produce growers, home crafters and other agriculture products. Booth spaces are $15 per day. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, call 433-5360 or log onto wfparks.org for more information.
