Park District promoting fall events

The West Fargo Park District will be hosting Youth Track on Tuesdays, Sept. 11, 18, and 25 at the Veterans Memorial Arena, 1201 7th Ave. E., West Fargo. Three track activities will be taught each week to boys and girls preschool to 6th grade. Events for 3-5 year olds will begin at 5:45 p.m. and 6-12 year olds will begin at 6:30 p.m. This free event is a great opportunity to introduce your child to a life-long sport and a fun way to exercise.

Seeking Vendors for Fall Rummage Sale

The West Fargo Park District is also conducting the Fall Rummage Sale on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Arena. Vendors will be selling crafts, rummage and garage sale items, clearance items, antiques, and collectibles. Booth space is $35.  Register prior to Sept. 2  and receive $5 off each booth space. Fall Classic Volleyball Tournament

The Park District Fall Classic Volleyball Tournament will take place on Sept. 22 and 23 at the Veterans Memorial Arena. This event is offered for Women's and Coed Teams that will consist of 6 players on the court with each team guaranteed a minimum of 4 matches. Round Robin format will be used followed by tournament play. The registration form is available online at wfparks.org or at the West Fargo Park District office, 500 13th Ave. W. Anyone with questions can call 433-5360.

Bone Builders - A Free Exercise Program to Help Prevent Osteoporosis

RSVP+ ND invites individuals to take part in Bone Builders, a free exercise program that strives to work against the negative effects of osteoporosis. The program will begin on Sept. 18 and run from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Veterans Memorial Arena Lobby. By doing some simple weight training individuals can protect themselves from osteoporosis related fractures by increasing muscle strength and bone density. Ongoing classes will meet twice weekly at locations in the area. Benefits of the program are improved balance, increased energy and mobility and increased bone density. .For questions or to register, call Teresa Huff, RSVP+ Coordinator at 701-231-9753 or email teresa.huff@ndsu.edu.

New Programs includes: Dance Sampler, Parent/Tot Discovering Music and Tumbling Tuesdays for preschool ages; Hockey Skating Skills for skaters thinking about playing hockey; Introduction to Acrylics, RSVP Bone Builders Exercise Program and Walk with Ease for Adults; and Advanced Air Pistol and Basic Pistol Marksmanship for both youth and adults.
