A passerby discovered the body around 11 a.m. Sunday while on a walk in the park, according to Moorhead Police Sgt. Joel Scharf.

The body was near a bicycle about 20 feet from the riverbank. Scharf said he did not know what type of bicycle was found.

It did not appear as though the person had been in the water, he said.

The body had likely been there for an extensive period of time, and it was not immediately clear whether it was a male or female, according to Sgt. Jim Nielsen. The body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for identification purposes, Nielsen said.

An investigation is under way. Police don't yet know the cause of death.

Currently, two men are known to be missing in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Kenneth Scott Krog, 41, was last seen Oct. 25 leaving a south Moorhead treatment center on a red mountain bike. Krog was extremely upset when he left, according to police.

Orvin Berg, 50, was last seen by his ex-wife on Oct. 28.
