Passerby finds body on Red River's banks
Moorhead police recovered a body from the riverbank late Sunday morning, a block south of the footbridge that connects Gooseberry and Lindenwood parks
A passerby discovered the body around 11 a.m. Sunday while on a walk in the park, according to Moorhead Police Sgt. Joel Scharf.
The body was near a bicycle about 20 feet from the riverbank. Scharf said he did not know what type of bicycle was found.
It did not appear as though the person had been in the water, he said.
