They followed that victory with a hotly contested 4-3 loss, followed by a 9-7 win against Jamestown on Wednesday. Young hit a home run in in each game against Jamestown.

The team then traveled to Apple Valley, Minn., on Friday to take part in the weekend's Gopher Classic. On the first day, dropped both games, falling to Yankton, S.D., 3-0 before a tough 9-2 loss to Coon Rapids.

The Pats bounced back on Saturday, despite chalking up another loss. They fell to Rosetown 1-0 in the morning, with the game's only run coming in the bottom of the seventh inning.

They followed that up with a strong afternoon. They scored six runs in the fourth inning to carry the team to a 9-8 victory over Apple Valley.

The Pats finished the tournament on Sunday by crushing Mankato 12-3.

In that game, the team got two hits from Camran Bonnema, Ben Huber, Chase Gooding and Devin Wagenman.

The 24-12 Patriots' 2013 regular season is drawing to a close. They host the Williston Keybirds tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. before heading to Eden Prairie, Minn., on Saturday and Minnetonka, Minn., on Sunday.
