Pheasants Forever to host youth outdoors activities day
Two area Pheasants Forever chapters are joining forces to support their organization's "No Child Left Indoors" initiative.
The Dakota East Central and Ransom County Chapters of Pheasants Forever are hosting a North Dakota Youth Outdoor Activity Day on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for children ages 5-17 years old who are accompanied by an adult.
The site of the event will be The Panzke Farm in Fort Ransom, N.D., located at 11940 58th St SE, between the Little Yellowstone and Fort Ransom State Park.
Corporate sponsors include the Sandhills Archery Club, Go Radio, KFGO, Scheels All Sports, and Pizza Ranch.
Youth who participate will be able to take part in a myriad of activities, including: air-rifle, rifle and archery target shooting, mock pheasant hunt, simulated laser hunt, shotgun trap shoot, casting in a trout pond, habitat and soil conservation, nature hike and scavenger hunt, hay wagon rides, bird house building, binocular challenge, GPS geo-caching, compass orienteering, animal track identification project, and a tree house sling shot.
Cost is $5 per child, and includes lunch and a one-year Pheasants Forever Ringneck membership.
