Police receive call about suspicious activity
Fargo North Dakota 101 5th Street North 58102

West Fargo Senior Citizens should be on the lookout for suspicious individuals wanting to enter their homes to check gas meters.

The West Fargo Police Department received a call Monday, Oct. 15, at 1:56 p.m. about a suspicious person at Sheyenne Square Townhomes, located at 1100 Sheyenne St.

A tenant had indicated to the individual making the call that a man came to her door claiming to need to check her gas meter at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14. She refused to let him in and locked the door. The man then walked around to the back of the building and was gone.

He was described as a middle-aged, white male, with dark hair, wearing a yellow coat.

West Fargo Police Department Captain Mike Reitan said in instances like this it is extremely important that people call the Police Department immediately when such suspicious activity occurs. "The delay makes it nearly impossible for the Police Department to investigate such matters."
