Pride of Dakota spring showcase set for Williston

More than 60 Pride of Dakota companies from across the state will gather Saturday, May 7, in Williston for the first-ever Pride of Dakota Spring Showcase.

"Member companies and consumers alike have repeatedly expressed interest in a Pride of Dakota showcase in northwestern North Dakota," Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. "We think everyone will find it was worth waiting for."

Showcase hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, at the Raymond Family Community Center, 1102 11th St W.  Admission is $1 per person, with children under 12 free.

"You will find gourmet food, wine, jewelry, books, art and more," Goehring said. "Other than the slightly different name, it is very much the same event that annually draws thousands of shoppers to the Holiday Showcases in Minot, Grand Forks, Fargo and Bismarck."

The Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcases are scheduled for Nov.5-6 in Grand Forks, Nov. 12-13 in Minot, Nov.18-20 in Fargo, and Dec. 2-4 in Bismarck. The Harvest Showcase in Dickinson is scheduled for Sept. 17-18.

More than 470 North Dakota companies are Pride of Dakota members. Administered by North Dakota Department of Agriculture Marketing Services, the Pride of Dakota program provides member companies with cooperative marketing and promotional events, such as Pride of Dakota Day, the Holiday Showcases and in-store demonstrations. Pride of Dakota also provides educational opportunities for retailers and representation at regional, national and international marketing expositions.
