Ralph Jepson, 87, of Frazee, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Health Center, Detroit Lakes.

Ralph Evan Jepson was born the son of Ray and Floretta (Seger) Jepson on May 20, 1920 in Coleraine, Minn. He began his education in Coleraine before moving with his family to Evergreen Township, where he attended country school, District 84. Ralph then worked in the logging industry in northern Minnesota, and also in the mining field on the Iron Range.

Ralph married Patricia Newton on Jan. 2, 1948 in Park Rapids, and they made their home in the Frazee area. They also lived in Oregon before moving back to rural Frazee, where Ralph worked in road construction and was employed by Black Top Paving and with Driveway Service, both in Detroit Lakes. He retired in 1975 and in 1993, Ralph and Patricia moved to Toad Lake Township. Patricia died in June 2003.

Ralph enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Surviving Ralph are his two sons, Matthew (Bernice) Jepson and Edward Jepson, both of Frazee; three daughters, Linda Crabtree of Frazee, Lorraine (Dana) Lundgren of Frazee and Patty Englund of Hawley; three brothers, David (Deloris) Jepson, Ernie (Shirley) Jepson and Bob Jepson, all of Frazee; two sisters, Olive Erkkila of Eugene, Ore., and Betty Lou Paulabicki of Perham; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia; a grandson, Michael Jepson; his parents; three brothers, Jim, Donavon and George; two sisters, Edna and Isabelle; and two sons-in-law, Bob Crabtree and Ron Englund.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Furey Funeral Home, Frazee; there will be visitation for one hour prior to the start of services. Burial will be in the Pickett Cemetery, rural Frazee.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Furey Funeral Home, Frazee.
