With the 2009 Red River Valley Fair now history, General Manager Bryan Schulz said he is extremely pleased with the outcome, describing the nine-day event as "one of the best ever" over the course of the past few years.
In attendance alone, 53,000 paying customers came through the gate, with these figures not including anything extra, i.e. mega or season passes "just the people who walked up and paid." Almost 4,200 mega passes were also sold.
Schulz said Saturday alone gate numbers were at about 7,200, with lunch times extremely strong daily because of the free admission offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Awesome" is the word he used to sum up end results in other venues, explaining the fair "exceeded budget projections by department for almost all areas."
Without any final numbers in yet Tuesday morning, Schulz said he expected total attendance figure counts over the nine-day run to hit approximately 125,000 people.
