Robert C. "Link" Anderson, 66, West Fargo, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in his home.
Robert was born on October 14, 1943 in Jamestown, N.D. to Clarence and Pearl Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Leal, N.D. He entered the U.S. Army at age 17, and later transferred into the Marine Corps where he served in Ireland as bodyguard to the American Ambassador. Upon discharge, he moved to California where he was active in car racing. He moved to Valley City, N.D. where he worked for Beyers Cement (Lafarge Dakota). He later owned and operated RC Anderson Trucking and continued to work with Lafarge Dakota until he retired in 2008. Bob moved to Fargo in 1972 where he met Helen Loe, and they enjoyed many years together. They lived in Horace until 1996 when they moved to West Fargo.
He was a member of the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club, Marine Corps League, Disabled American Veterans, and the Minn. and N.D. Street Rod Associations. Bob's passions included hunting, fishing, old cars and spending time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his companion of 37 years, Helen Loe of West Fargo, brother, James Anderson; sister, Lillian (Ray) Borg, both of Valley City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation and memorial services were held on October 30, 2009 at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo.
