Ronald McDonald House charities, Fargo Marathon join forces
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley announced that it has joined forces with the Fargo Marathon. The RMHC-RRV was recently approved to become a part of a new endeavor called "Go Far Charity."
"The Fargo Marathon Go Far Charity program is an effort to encourage participants in the various events of the marathon to team up with local charities, like the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley, to create awareness and raise money. Runners who join the RMHC-RRV are asked to raise a specific dollar amount while, in return, being provided with great incentives and benefits during their training program and on race day," said Stacy Duncan, Director of Development and Community Relations. "This is an exciting opportunity for runners to make their miles meaningful and raise funds to support the RMHC-RRV and the families who stay with us."
Since 1982, the Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley has served families with children undergoing treatments in any Fargo, N.D. - Moorhead, Minn. healthcare facility. The house offers loving, home-like environments, where families can find support and share experiences with others. Families are asked to pay $15 per night; however, no family is turned away due to the inability to pay. Actual cost to operate the RMH is $85 per night.
