The coats for kids program continues in Cass and Clay Counties thanks to the partnership of several local entities in the community.

The distribution continues today and runs through Saturday at The Salvation Army Distribution Center at 1503 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead.

The program provides coats for children and adults in the community who might not otherwise have the warm winter outerwear necessary to deal with the harsh outdoor conditions that are typical to our area.

Items that will need to be brought along for registration include a photo identification of some sort for the head of the household as well as a social security card for every family member seeking winter gear.

Specific distribution dates and times are: today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m to 7 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Among the businesses partnering with the Salvation Army to make this program hugely viable are: RADIO Fargo-Moorhead, Sanford Health, and Camelot Cleaners.

There is no doubt this type of service is right up the Salvation Army's alley. As a leader in Christian-based human services, the group is committed to serve the whole person, body, soul and spirit with integrity and respect, using creative solutions to positively transform lives.

Thanks to this focus, the Salvation Army's connection to the metro area is long lasting and far reaching, serving Cass and Clay Counties for 115 years and affecting the lives of thousands of persons each year, the last holiday season alone serving more than 2,000 people in our community.
