Scholastic Winter Book Fair to be held at Sheyenne 9th Grade Center

Looking for that special gift for that special someone?  Students from Sheyenne 9th Grade Center will host a Scholastic Winter Book Fair on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the commons during the second set of conferences at Sheyenne. The book fair will also be open in the Library Media Center from 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. through Dec. 11, so students may browse throughout the week.

Featuring a wide range of books for young teens and adults, including mystery and adventure novels, fantasy trilogies, sports guides, manga, and the latest bestsellers from more than 150 publishers, the book fair may be an excellent way of getting some of your holiday shopping completed. Parents, students, teachers, and the community are invited to attend.

Student Council volunteers will help run the book fair during the days, as well as during conferences. Besides the book fair, the student council at Sheyenne has also helped decorate a Fraser Tree, promoted and volunteered at "Fill the Dome," and has held a pep rally for the students at Sheyenne. The advisors for student council are Susan Jordahl and Nanci Dauwen.  Members of the student council include: Cole Bachmeier, Elsa Bollinger, Amanda Gross, Kim Kraadi, Michaela Liebl, Sarah Massey, Madison Myrvik, Sarah Schaeffer, Robbie Seaman, Greg Smith, Mark Staples, Skylar Thompson,  Adam Thomte, Sierra Walker, Miranda Wilcox, Krista Windjue, and Evan Young.
