Scouting for Food benefits local food pantry needs
Area Boy Scouts will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Fargo Food Pantry beginning on Saturday, March 23 beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until noon.
Area residents are asked to participate by placing donated items in shopping bags or boxes and setting them outside their door so they are visible from the street prior to 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Residents should avoid donating containers made from glass due to the potential of breakage. A drop off site will also be available at the West Fargo Sunmart, 1100 13th Ave. E., from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday for anyone who did not have the opportunity to set items out.
The Scouting for Food program is a yearly event involving Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from the West Fargo and Horace area. The Pantry counts on the program as one of their more successful food drives. Food stocks typically are down this time of year and Scouting for Food will carry the Pantry into the summer months for the many people in need of the assistance provided.
