Scouts earn the Triple Crown of High Adventure Award
Two young men from West Fargo Boy Scout Troop 279 have been recognized for their quest for travel and excitement by qualifying for the Triple Crown of High Adventure Award. The award is issued by the Boy Scouts of America and the Charles L. Sommers alumni association to honor scouts who have participated in programs at each of the three High Adventure Bases operated by the Boy Scouts of America.
Life Scout Jake Blotsky and Eagle Scout Nathan Reitan earned the award by camping and hiking for twelve days in the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico at Philmont, camping and canoeing for five days in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota at Northern Tier, and sailing, fishing, and snorkeling in the ocean for five days near Key West, Florida at Seabase. A majority of active Boy Scouts never participate in programs at the High Adventure Bases around the country. Nathan and Jake were the ever present names in the changing roster of scouts attending High Adventure bases each summer for the last three years from this region.
Nathan is the son of Mike and Michelle Reitan, West Fargo. Jake is the son of Jim and Twylah Blotsky, West Fargo.
