The Red River Valley Fair announces Sevendust to perform on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Sevendust, an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Ga., was formed in 1994 and has released nine albums.
Somehow, Sevendust grows stronger with each successive album. Their personal bond not only strengthens, but the music tends to get tougher and tighter as well. Their ninth full-length offering, Black Out the Sun released in 2012, staunchly upholds that tradition.
Sevendust doesn’t stray from the bruising hallmarks of their patented style, but they also don’t stick to a script either. They deliver what their diehard fan base has loved since day one, but they continue to challenge themselves in the process. As a result, Black Out the Sun sees Sevendust at their most uncompromising, unwavering, and undeniable.
John Connolly, guitarist for the group was asked what the band defined their genre as:
“I don’t know. I’ve been trying to figure that out. It was back in the day. People, for five minutes called us progressive, and then it was nu-metal. Then, all of a sudden, we were playing alternative metal. We are some kind of heavy and some kind of rock and some kind of metal.”
General Manager, Bryan Schulz stated “We tried hard to secure a metal band. We’re happy to be able to bring Sevendust to the Red River Valley Fair.”
