Stephanie Cwikla, newspaper adviser at Sheyenne, will receive the grant to help develop a journalism program and the new West Fargo high school.

This is the first year for the high school journalism grant program, a cooperative venture between North Dakota and South Dakota newspapers and college journalism programs.

Allan Burke, NDNAEF president, said the goal of the grant program is to recognize outstanding journalism programs, encourage new program start-ups and assist programs that are seeking to improve.

The grants represent one facet of the #Journalismls program designed to help redefine high school journalism for the digital age.
