Sorlie benefit fundraiser set for Saturday night
Friends will host a fundraiser benefit on Saturday, May 11 to help Dale Sorlie, a North Dakota Air National Guard veteran of 22 years. In the fall of 2010, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, which has left him unable to work, and has resulted in loss of income and extensive medical bills.
The fundraiser is scheduled for 6 to 11 p.m. at the West Fargo VFW, 308 Sheyenne St. The benefit will include a silent auction, raffle, bake sale, live music by Crash DJ, Sloppy-Joe supper, and a “Ketchup in the Face” carnival style game. Free will donations will be accepted.
Lend A Hand, a program of Dakota Medical Foundation, is supporting the fundraising effort with up to $5,000 of matching funds. Online donations may be made to: www.dakmed.org/lendahand, click donate. Cash/check donations can also be made payable to The Dale Sorlie Benefit Fund, at Bell State Bank & Trust, 5050 13th Ave S #1 Fargo, N.D. 58103 dropped off at any Bell State Bank & Trust location.
