Steven Lee

Steven James Lee was born on March 18, 1957 to James and Joanne (Gunderson) Lee.  He grew up on a farm outside of Fargo and attended West Fargo Schools.  Steven graduated in 1975 from West Fargo and went on to NDSU for one year.  Following school he started his career in Horace, where he worked at the elevator.  During that time he married Mary Olsgaard in West Fargo in June of 1977.  Together they had one daughter, Jami. Steven had numerous jobs throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota at various elevators, where he managed most of them.  Steven settled in McLaughlin in August of 2000 and started working at the Wheat Growers Association.

Steven enjoyed his family, playing cards, and cruising on his four-wheeler. He was the choir director in Horace. Steven sang and played the trumpet.  He also played softball, darts, pool, fished, and ice fished.

Steven is survived by his daughter Jami (Ryan) Hoffner of Bottineau, N.D., soon-to-be grandchild, parents James and Joanne Lee of Horace, sisters Penny Lee of West Fargo, Patty (Steve) Moser of Grand Forks, N.D., and two nephews Brock and Evan Moser.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation and a time of sharing for Steven Lee, age 52, of McLaughlin was held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Visitation and prayer services were also held on Monday, December 28, 2009, at Horace Lutheran Church in Horace, N.D.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Horace Lutheran Church in Horace. Steven passed away on Tuesday, December 22, from an accident at work in McLaughlin.
