Sixth time was not the charm for Tony Stewart.
The NASCAR star made another cameo appearance last Wednesday at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, and just like the five times before, failed to win a feature race.
Running in the Late Models, Stewart had to win a transfer race just to qualify for the main show after placing fourth in the first heat.
Races were delayed after more than a half inch of rain muddied up the track.
Fargo's Matt Aukland wound up winning the Late Models feature, with Zach Naastad of Hatton, N.D., coming in second and Lance Schill of Langdon, N.D. rounding out the Top 3.
Other feature winners on the night included Dan Dowling of Fargo in the Pure Stocks, Brock Gronwold of Fergus Falls, Minn., in the A-Modifieds, and Casey Arneson of Fargo in the B-Modifieds.
Last year, Stewart wound up visiting RRVS three times. There is no word currently if he will be back again this year.
RRVS races return to their Saturday at 7 p.m., as First International Bank and Trust presents Modifieds, Super Stocks, B-Modifieds and Pure Stocks. For more information, visit www.redrivervalleyspeedway.com.
