Stigen named Advisor of the Year
Nancy Stigen, an accounting instructor at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, was named the National Advisor of the Year for the Business Professionals of America .
Stigen has been teaching at MSCTC for 24 years, and has been a BPA advisor for the past 23 years. To be eligible for this award, Stigen had to be nominated by her students.
The award is only given out to one advisor per year at the national conference. This year the national competition was held in Indianapolis, Ind. Stigen was selected out of more than 850 advisors in attendance.
“She will forever be known as one of the best ever, as this year’s Business Professionals of America Advisor of the Year,” said Kirk Lawson, the executive director of the Business Professionals of America.
Stigen was also named the State Advisor of the Year at the State Leadership Conference in Alexandria, Minn., earlier this year.
