Sophomores Michael Domres and Gavin Day; juniors Jacob Nudell, Ashtyn Eidenshink and Keenen Golliet; and seniors Brandi Dahl, Taylor Ganser and Diang Lulut all were treated to a special day March 16 as recipients of the STRETCH Award.

The STRETCH award is a biannual program that recognizes students who have worked hard to improve their grades. The top students from each grade who have made the most significant increase in overall grade point average from quarter to quarter will receive the distinction.

Kelley Scheid and Rachel Dwyer are co-advisors of the Renaissance Club at WFHS, which puts on the STRETCH Award. Renaissance is a program designed to celebrate and reward student achievement and character through the partnerships built among administrators, faculty, staff, parents and local businesses.

"They had a great time celebrating their hard work," Dwyer said.

Area businesses generously contributed to this year's STRETCH award. The honored students were given a limo ride, donated by Xtreme Limousine, to Space Aliens for lunch before heading to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert, all free of charge.
