Students seeking a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Leadership through the University of Mary spoke before the Senior Program Committee Monday evening in West Fargo.
The presentation was the culmination of a twelve week project meant to expand and improve upon the seniors programs provided in West Fargo. The students focused on four key aspects of program development: marketing; activity programming; program facilities; and 501(c)(3) status. The group provided critiques of the current program to identify areas of needed improvement and areas to expand. The information presented also included contact information relating to persons and resources in the community that can assist in further growing the senior program.
Committee member Frank Lenzmeier said he was excited by the information presented during the meeting. "To have this group of students put together a product we can use to make the senior program a success is huge. I am truly excited about where we can go from here."
Several of the students had ties to West Fargo as either current or past residents. Student Stacy Lund said she grew up here and truly enjoyed being part of a project that could have an impact on her home town. Paul Burud acted as the student group leader. He said, "Our time spent researching, developing and preparing to present tonight went fast. We all hope the information we provided can push the development of the senior program to the next level."
