Sun named WFHS Student of the Month for April
Wenzhu "Wendy" Sun, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for April. She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average, and is the daughter of Chengwen Sun.
Wenzhu has accumulated several accolades during her high school education. She was awarded the Advanced Placement scholar award for passing the AP English, biology and history college board exams.
Wenzhu is the vice president of the symphonic band, and has played clarinet for four years, as well as alto saxophone in Jazz Band. She has never earned below a Regional Star in solo and ensemble festivals, and scored an Outstanding Performance in a clarinet duet last year. She also has been in the pit orchestra for four years, covering everything from Anything Goes to Hairspray. Wenzhu attended three years of the All-State Band in Bismarck, and received academic and fine arts letters.
Wenzhu has desiged graphics for the Packer newspaper, and was in Key Club her freshman year. For two years she has been with the National Honor Society, and completed the required service credits.
Wenzhu currently has straight A's in all her advanced classes, which include calculus, government, English, anatomy/physiology I and II, and microeconomics. She also speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese at home.
Her future plans are to attend the University of Wisconsin in Madison, with the intention of preparing for medical school.
